Welcome! |
This site is the product of countless hours of research and study dissecting the intersections of learning transfer, technology, memory, and pedagogy. It began as a graduate pedagogy project, and collaborative space to conjoin pedagogical ideas with my thesis research, but, ultimately, this site has provided a digital laboratory to transfuse data, draw connections, and visually organize a complicated set of knowledge encompassing four fields of study (transfer, memory, technology, and pedagogy). It was during the process of designing this site that I have come to understand the value of digital work environments, visual persuasion, and the many perks of writing in a non-linear format. This site largely follows my thesis research, but provided a valuable format for dividing and conquering large amounts of information. In a way, it has been ironic that composing my thesis in this digital environment first has assisted me in making connections across research since that is what I argue technology creates barriers against. But, alas, all the pieces fall together. Technology fused with writing can create new opportunities for transfer, critical engagement, and the many benefits of easy comprehension through use of visual organization structures. I invite you to please peruse the pages of this site and learn how technology is impacting learning transfer (via memory) and what that means for composition pedagogy.
